Quarterly Chaos: Coffee, New Book, and What’s Next

Another quarter down, another update. Two posts in one year—new record.

Coffee-fueled project → actual book

I’ve been haunting WildShape, our local nerdy coffee place. Nico (the owner) convinced me to give a talk on book publishing… which snowballed into its own book:

DIY & DIE HAPPY: A Self-Publishing Survival Guide for New Writers

  • Free PDF: grab it in the Library on this site.
  • Other formats + paperback: available on Amazon.
  • Kindle Unlimited note: because I’m offering the PDF for free here, it’s not in KU (KU requires exclusivity). Sorry, KU readers—this one’s on me.

What’s already out

  • Xenoforming: First Contact (Revised Edition) – same story, cleaner pacing, sharper prose, and roughly the word count. It’s the version I wish I’d shipped first.
  • Until Tomorrow Comes – a one-shot, quiet slice-of-life romance. Small release, big heart.

What’s next

  • Born to Ball – a coming-of-age sports novel about a young athlete trying to be the best against the worst circumstances. It’s in the final editing pass and I aim to finish it this year.
  • Xenoforming: Generation Zero – after (almost) a decade, the review process has begun. With my self-publishing schedule, there’s a chance it lands before Christmas—but you know my deadlines. Consider hope… cautiously optimistic.

Beta readers & brave volunteers

I’m still looking for beta readers and guinea pigs for odd experiments and early chapters.
Subscribe to the newsletter and I’ll occasionally open seats at the experimental table.

Websites & a small merch detour

I’m dusting off the other blogs I’ve been neglecting and pushing a simple merch store live. It’s a hobby move: I want to wear my own characters and figured—why not let you do the same? Expect small, curated drops, not a flood.

Yes, the blogs have heard this speech before. This time I brought a broom.

That’s the quarter

That’s it for now. I don’t expect another shadow release this year… but if I miraculously finish something and get impatient (as always), you’ll be the first to know.

See you soon—maybe in a book.
